Who are we?
The Painless Divorce team at Collaborative Resolution Ltd, is a team of experienced professionals with legal, financial, mediating, coaching and family psychology backgrounds. We all have our own independent practices which enables us to legally work for you as our individual clients while having the additional criteria of training and working together to provide you with the least stressful approach to divorce, in the most cost efficient way.
While everyone has similar core experiences in their discipline, no two professionals have exactly the same professional interests, some help divorcing couples sort their multiple business interests, others work with professional couples without families, then others bring experience of divorce in difficult or complex family systems, both within England and Wales, or beyond if your family has more than one base.
One of you may also need to understand the details of the family’s financial position or be given the confidence to run a future budget alone. Alternatively you may have a mortgage or need up to date advice on pension sharing and information about how your decisions to divide other assets you have, could impact you in the future. Or your financial position could be straightforward so less costly advice would be needed. So we need to ensure we include the most appropriate finance person from our team who can best advise you, so together, you make informed financial decisions around responsibilities and resources.
As most people divorce because their emotional relationship has broken down, selecting the group facilitator with the experience to help you both gain the best out of your divorce, is crucial and ensures communication does not break down when you are dealing with some of the difficult issues that will occur in your divorce.
You are guaranteed the safety of choosing your team from people who are highly experienced and respected in their fields and who have come together knowing we can add real value to you, your partner and family as we take you through the process of divorce and preparing for the future in a holistic and integrated way. Once we’ve spoken with you we will tailor a team around your needs and give you the opportunity to meet with the team so you can make an informed decision as to how working with a team will support you and you’ll experience first hand how it will feel to work together, so you decide if you are happy to work with all the people you meet to divorce and create the foundation stones for you futures.
The multi disciplinary team approach fulfills the international standards set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) who provide standards for Interdisciplinary Team Collaborative Practitioners, which includes specialist training in addition to training currently offered by legal organisations in the UK.
People in multi-disciplinary teams work closely on issues of trust together and learn how to manage the natural distrust that can appear when divorcing couples are trying to agree the terms of their divorce. As a divorce team we have the skills, to manage the inevitable emotions or outbursts that create flash points in most round table divorce discussions, because our team training helps us not close a discussion at the wrong time. Then we consider the outcome of every meeting together assisted by our knowledge of group and couple dynamics before creating a baseline structure for your next meeting. This type of preparation benefits you, because you remain focused on what you both need to create, to achieve a positive divorce.
You’ll be asking lots of questions as you look for help with your divorce. Those about legal process, and professional experience are relatively easy to find answers to, but the hidden questions are just as important to help you create a good divorce outcome. Our team at Painless Divorce, believe it’s important that we answer your silent questions too. The excerpt below goes someway to recognizing what some of your unvoiced questions may be.
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living
It doesn’t interest me how old you are
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have
It doesn’t interest me to know who you know or how you came to be here
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
If you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed
I want to know if you can sit with pain mine…
Without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it
I want to know if you can be… trustworthy
I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day
I want to know if you can live with failure
I want to know if you can be with joy
I want to know what sustains you… when all else falls away
I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back
